First released starting in the late 90’s, the Harry Potter book series, written by JK Rowling, was an extremely popular children’s story. Comprised of Seven novels about a wizarding world taking place in the UK, the books became so popular that the Harry Potter movie franchise was released a few years after the books. Eight movies were released, as the last chapter (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) was released as a part one and two. The movies starred Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as his friend Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Harry’s other friend Ron Weasley.
As Harry Potter was popular with kids, teens, and adults alike, mainly in the early 2000’s, the franchise has gained lots of popularity once again, partly because of the new phenomenon app, TikTok. Recently, teenage girls and boys alike have been seeing and making many tiktoks about the movies, including what ifs, which characters are their favorites, and seeing which houses famous “TikTokers” would get sorted into.
While Harry Potter has once again risen to fame because of the app, one character in particular has really gained popularity, especially with teens, and that character is Draco Malfoy. If you didn’t know, Draco Malfoy is an entitled boy coming from a rich wizarding family, who is notorious for being Harry’s bully. His rise to popularity on TIkTok is widely because people have said they like his character development and that they are simply attracted to him. People who are into Harry Potter once again see the movies and characters all over their “for you page” and may spend hours scrolling through the Harry Potter themed videos.
No matter the reason that Harry Potter has once again gained popularity, fans from the books, movies, or simply even TikTok are quite happy about it, hoping it will stay popular for a long time.
